Thanksgiving

Last year Thanksgiving came and went without me giving it a second thought, but this year we pooled a big group and went to the Siam City Hotel for their delicious Thanksgiving buffet. The food was amazing, the variety was great, and I couldn't stop eating the desserts! Though somehow I missed the pumpkin pie..

Life Goes On

Despite everything that's happened in the past month, I have survived and carried on, and things have improved. Upon returning to Bangkok...

Within four days I had purchased a new camera

Three days after that(Friday) my friend Taisei gave me his 30GB iPod as an early birthday present since I lost mine(and I've named it Bruno)

Thai Airways called me Halloween morning to tell me that my lost luggage had been found and I could pick it up at the airport

Two days later my new 52 PAGE passport was ready at the embassy (with a letter for immigration to please transfer my work visa into it)

So although it was a tough few weeks, it is true that nothing is irreplaceable (except my pictures, which thank goodness I still have, lol). Life has gone on. :)

Happy Birthday to me :D

My birthday almost snuck up on me this year, what with the laziness I've had camping out from the floods these past few weeks. I had originally planned to go up north and do some hardcore white water rafting with a collection of my friends, but unfortunately with all the floods, not only was coordination and transportation an issue, but most of my 'team' had evacuated, and it wouldn't have been the same.

I woke up Friday morning and was pleasantly surprised to be greeted with cake and presents from Suzy and her friend Sarah! I eagerly blew out the 8 candles, even though it took me 3 tries to blow them all out.

I opened my bag of presents to find an assortment of adorable goodies, including a silver compact, a box of truffles, cheese(!), earrings/necklace, nail polish, and hair cologne(hahaha...only in Thailand).

Still not over my jet lag, and having gotten up early for my birthday, I needed a nap that afternoon before dinner, so got in a good few hours' snooze before getting dressed for the evening. We had dinner at Tapas Cafe on Sukhumvit Soi 11, and OMG the food was amazing! And I think the seasoned potatoes with the tomatoes and garlic mayo were the best; I can't even remember how many plates we ordered!

Had creme brulee for dessert, and Rebeccah gave me my final gift of the evening:

Today I went to the Thai Craft Fair and did a bit of birthday shopping of my own:

And my favorite item:

LOVE IT.
